C.O.L.O.U.R. - B.L.O.C.K.

Last day at centre Pompidou, I noticed that even their 'ATM/post-office' mini-spot had an interesting design. It can look quite unusual like that, but it's crazy how a 'colour-blocking' with primary colours can take out all the monotony of the 'I'm taking some cash out' ! Indeed, this 30 seconds colour-therapy was quite inspiring ...  I directly connected it to Balenciaga's 'HOLIDAY' accesories line, that at first sight I kind of questioned - not being so sure of liking it. And then this colour story slowly started to gain me, and seeing it in XXL version in an artistic space just convinced me. Here I am, evidently thinking that LEGO fashion accesories, when  worn with the most basic pieces from a wardrobe, like a white tee-shirt and a pair of blue jeans, can actually look really smart ! (if on top, you add a gold links necklace in the style of this season's Balenciaga ones, well, you merit a distinction grade!). Thinking that a couple of seasons back, I wasn't that excited by the Balenciaga LEGO heels from my ex boss ... well ... it's like I'm thinking of going to Colette to check the new LEGO digital camera ;-)

    bonne continutaion!

  4. That is a nice outfit. The colour block scheme has been used in many outfits. My brother had a total obsession with rubix cubes about a year ago we even got him rubix cube cufflinks for his blazers.

    Cool blog,

  9. Dolly : Thank you ... yes DEF the colour-blocking dates from 60's-70's and the 80's rubix-cube has been photographed a lot in mags like Super-Super, worn by the Boom-Box crowd and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac fans ... but what I believe is kind of new is the smart take on it by Balenciaga's accesories, keeping the rest of the outfit simple sticking to basics. Interesting blog you have.
